DOUG HAMMOND'S RETURN TO GULU
|
Twenty-one years ago my wife and I were rushed out of Gulu, northern Uganda, in the last convoy to leave the area. Security had been deteriorating for several weeks and the church hosting us decided it was too dangerous for us to stay in the area. We had spent fifteen life-changing months in Gulu and so left feeling a mix of emotions: relief, anger, guilt, and anxiety...all these swept over us as we crossed the Nile and out of the “war-zone”.
